Choice of Media

The two filtration media types we recommend are sand and D.E. Both provide a great level of filtration at a reasonable price.

D.E. - D.E. filters provide a superior level of filtration. filtering particles as small as 5 Microns(1/10 the width of a human hair). That means body oils, suntan lotions, pollens, dust and even some bacteria are caught in a D.E. filter, leaving behind sparkling clear, healthier water.
However D.E. filters require more owner maintenance, care and cost.

Sand - Sand filters are one of the most popular ways to filter water. For good reason. They are simple, effective, and require very little attention. We highly recommend to all our sand filter customer to use only sand rated specifically for use in pool filtration systems, "play sand" will not filter properly.
